So what distributions have you all used, which one do you like the best, and why is it your choice? Ive only used debian 2. I like it fine except I switch the default window manager to ICE. *

I have tried SUSE, SimplyMEPIS and Ubuntu... and my fave is UBUNTU!! I've just upgraded to Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon (the latest version) and it is by far the best OS I have ever used. Ok, so mp3/dvd/nvidia accelerated graphics dont come supported out of the box - but the necessary drivers are easily downloaded and installed, and then you have an OS that cr*ps all over Vista and OSX. Ubuntu demonstrates that Linux is ready to take over the desktop... if only more people knew about it!! *

I'm using ubuntu 8.04 at the moment its my favorite so far. I've tried mandriva, fedora, open suse and knoppix. i like fedora i was using fedora before ubuntu. i like open suse but had nothing but problems when installing it grub could never find the correct partition and with mandriva my internet never seems to work or it freezes. *
